Why We Prepare for Emergencies

Let’s face it, life is full of surprises. Sometimes good, sometimes scary. What would you do if you were in the middle of a disaster without access to medical care? Could you help the people you love? Without planning, without training, any disaster puts you and those you care about at risk. During major events such as hurricanes or tornadoes, emergency responders may not be able to reach you. Hospitals sometimes fail, such as during Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy.

You may be the only person who can save yourself or your family.

I believe every prepper group and family should have at least one, preferably two, trained people to act as the group medic. As you read this blog, you’ll find I’m a believer in redundancy. Have a plan, then a back up plan, and then a ‘what the hell is going on’ plan as your back up, back up.

While there’s much to learn, don’t let anyone tell you that it’s impossible for you to learn how to take care of your loved ones. We aren’t going to pretend we are doctors (no, we don’t play one on tv) and a trained medical provider and facility will always be able to provide the best level of care…. our aim is to help you be last line of defense to help someone or yourself in an emergency.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
